After TGE in Brighton we got our breath back and went up to Liverpool to Sound City where more networking was done and more great bands played, including The Boy Done Good who were terriffic at Hebbie Jeebies on Satuday night!
Wow what a busy time at The Great Escape 14, 15 & 16th of May! Lots of seminars, lots of networking and we saw some great bands in the evening, including Australian bands Temper Trap and The John Steel Singers!
London City Showcase took place earleir this year on 7th, 8th &9th of May with new talent showcasing in various venues across London, and Dawson Breed Music were there, helping out at the Borderline.
Dawson Breed Music and Respect Music Limited have been working on a joint venture with young Edinburgh songwriter/producers Reid&Stanners to celebrate the songwriting talents of Roy Orbison.
Barbara Orbison Productions has chosen the Reid&Stannersversion of You’re The One to be featured on a Roy Orbisontribute album due for imminent release on itunes. They will also perform the song for her at a special event to be held at The Gibson Rooms London on the 23rd April 2009 which is Roy Orbison’s birthday.
Thursday April 23, 2009 marks the birthday of the legendary Roy Orbison (23 April 1936) and musicians around the world are celebrating his life and music at a concert and CD release launch.The songs will be available worldwide on iTunes on April 27.
The event will be hosted by Roy’s family, Barbara, Roy and Alex Orbison and is supported by Epiphone in celebration of the upcoming launch the new Epiphone 12 String ‘Pretty Woman’ acoustic guitar – the Epiphone acoustic guitar was originally used by Roy when he penned that song. Other sponsors on the night include BMI, Denzyl Feigelson and his team at AWAL (Artists Without A Label), Guitar Hero, SonyATV, and SonyBMG.
A rock and roll pioneer with an unforgettable dynamic voice, Roy Orbison is being honored by some 35 new signed and unsigned artists who have recorded their rendition of Orbison classics and other songs. In this way they carry forward his pioneering spirit and the indelible mark his five decades of music have made. From “Only The Lonely” and “Pretty Woman,” to “You Got It” and Roy’s Traveling Wilburys “You’re Not Alone Anymore” Orbison’s songwriting was matched by his soulful and unique 5 octave operatic voice.

ILMC or the International Live Music Conference took place at the weekend where music industry professionals gathered to network, do business and share thoughts and ideas at the numerous panels.
mesh-29 who are currently at No.7 in the UK indie chart with their latest single ‘Wide Awake’ played a truly classy set to an extremely enthusiastic audience for the Red Stripe Music Awards 09 at Dingwalls last week. The loyal mesh-29 fans were treated to a stunning 30 minute set including their latest single.
DBM has just returned from Groningen in the Netherlands where we saw some of Europes exceptional talent. We also attended the European Breaker Awards hosted by the fabulous Joolz Holland.
