Riddler are a new, quirky, upbeat band from London & the South East. The band is fronted by singer Anneliese Shaw, and keyboardist Michael Pearce, who originally formed the band to satisfy their appetite for creating original songs written from the heart, with a slightly surreal twist. Their sound echoes influence from Moloko, Tori Amos, Imogen Heap and a happier Portishead.
A vibrant, emotive and energetic live act, they continue to enjoy performing to wide-ranging audiences alongside fellow band members Dan Wheatley (Bass), Mark Law (Drums), and Geiger Szabo (Guitars) to complete the full five-piece. They perform regularly in London and the surrounding area, and have recently supported both Pete Doherty and Paolo Nutini to great reception from their crowds. They have also performed to full houses at London venues including the Bull & Gate, the Spice of Life, the Old Blue Last, & Rhythm Factory, The Troubadour.
Recent Riddler projects have included collaboration with Video, Animation and Remix artists. Most recently, they worked with Hungarian band ‘RemembeR’ & Director Lóránt Demeter, to record and produce the music video ‘New Shuuz, New Life’, which reached No. 2 on MTV Hungary in April 2008, and continues to receive regular airplay. With further collaborations in the pipe-line, Riddler look forward to creating both audio and visual works of art to feed their creative output.
