It was a fabulous kick off to 2013 by the river Thames for the New Year celebrations and a good opportunity for a winter update of all things going on in the DBM camp! Always enjoyable with great panels, fantastic bands to see, and plenty of drinks parties, as usual we headed off to Groningen to Noorderslag/Eurosonic arriving early for the EBBAs with live performances from the 10 winners, which included the fantastic Irishman James Vincent McMorrow, Belgian Selah Sue and the Netherlands very own Afrojack. Followed swifly by the European Festival awards, with an excellent live performance from Selah Sue and a lifetime achievement ward for Michael Eavis, it was a busy first night!
Again, we were at the Noorderslag/Eurosonic conference and showcase this year and saw some terrific bands. The European Breaker Awards were presented by the fabulous Joolz Holland, which was a great show and we were treated to live performances from the winners including Swedish artiste Jenny Wilson www.myspace.com/goldmedalrecordings The Oosterpoort building which is the location for the Noorderslag Conference in a very snowy Groningen in The Netherlands.
